Maybelline City Mini Palette Review

beautyI’m back from vacation! I had a great time in Gatlinburg and want to go back to the mountains ASAP.

Before vacay I received another box from Influenster, and I love receiving new products from them. They send them for free in exchange for a review and posts about the product, so naturally I love sharing them on the blog.

Maybelline recently launched new palettes in their City Mini series. There are eight total palettes ranging from neutrals, shimmers and pops of color.

I received the palette in the shade Matte About Town. It is a mixture of purpley, pink and taupe shades. The pallete brands itself as having one color for the base, two color options for the lid, two color options for the crease and one option for a liner.

For the palette, the cream shadow is used for a base. The rose-pink and mauve shades are for the lid. The deeper cream and taupe shades are for the crease and the purple-brown shade under that is for liner. This palette is 100 percent matte, which I love!

IMG_7913I actually brought this palette, and only this palette, on vacation. I really put a lot of faith in it, and it didn’t let me down! I was able to create many different looks with this one. I like the different options in the colors, too.

I love drugstore products and they are primarily what I purchase when makeup shopping. I think this palette is comparable to some high-end ones. Plus this palette is under $10 at most beauty retailers.

On another note, while getting ready one day I reached for my Tartelette Tease Palette because it has a nice mirror in it, the Maybelline one doesn’t have one. I realized that these two are actually very similar and could be a dupe for one another.

The Tartelette Tease Palette definitely has a more purple hue to it but four shades are very similar. IMG_7924

The Maybelline palette is the bottom swatch of the two. You can see the shades have similar color payoff.

I believe you can’t beat the price and the variety of the shades in the City Mini palettes. If you are in the market for new eyeshadows I would definitely check these out.

That’s all for this post. Next week I am teaming up with a fellow blogger for a FUN post. Stay tuned!
